Preventing trauma isn’t a one-time occurrence

Like most things associated with good parenting, it requires consistent, ongoing efforts to help children deal with the stressors they face every day. You want to give your children the ability to deal with difficult, unpredictable and frightening experiences when they happen. This is called building resilience.
